Calculation For Determining How Many Turns  On A Thread Gage.

Using 1/4 - 28 x .500 as an example:

Step 1).     / 1.00" by Threads Per Inch.                                                                        (Example)  1.00" / 28 = .0375

Step 2).    / Length of Threads (.500) by The answer in step 1). (.0375)        (Example)  .500 / .0375 = 13.333 

Answer Is 13 1/3 Turns
